When capability becomes abundant - when analysis, drafting, and pattern-matching are available to everyone, instantly, at near-zero cost - the scarce thing is no longer information, or even intelligence. It is judgment: the uniquely human capacity to decide well under uncertainty, to read what the models cannot, and to hold responsibility for the call. In an AI-saturated market, the premium relocates to what cannot be automated. That is the whole reason the category is new: the value has moved to the human layer.
Execution is where the premium is realized.
A thesis that is never executed is worth nothing. The human premium is not realized in the having of judgment but in the exercise of it - in the decisions actually made, sequenced, and carried through to the event that realizes value. Execution is where craft stops being a quality and becomes enterprise value: EV, EBITDA, free cash flow, the number on the only scoreboard that matters.
The category is new because the value moved.
Every prior category was built when the constraint was capability - when the edge was knowing more, or working harder, than the next firm. That constraint is dissolving. When capability is abundant and judgment is scarce, the discipline built around human judgment and its execution is not a refinement of the old categories. It is the new one.
